National Naloxone Awareness Day

Victoria’s Voice was on Capitol Hill to mark the second annual National Naloxone Awareness Day on June 6! We celebrated the day with Senator Rick Scott and Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Patrick Lechleitner, along with leaders and advocates from the business and faith communities. It was both bittersweet and heartwarming to have six of Victoria’s siblings standing in solidarity with those in attendance to turn their loss into action and advocacy to save lives from overdose.

We are especially grateful to Emergent, the makers of Narcan, who generously sponsored our pre-event reception the night before. We deeply appreciate all those who recognized the day by wearing purple and posting in support.  We are also thankful for the 75+ monuments and buildings, including Niagara Falls, that were illuminated purple to recognize this historic day. The photos are stunning!
