Community Speakers
On June 21, Victoria’s Voice hosted its second annual Community Speakers training event in Orlando. Led by Michael DeLeon, our Director of Youth Outreach and School Programs, the two-day training prepared speakers to engage audiences with their powerful personal stories of loss and struggle while sharing our drug prevention resources.
Storm Dillenschneider, a passionate community speaker who first attended our training in 2023, recently spoke at a function where she engaged nearly 40 women. One mother in attendance went on to share the Victoria’s Voice diary with her community, and her daughter was later engaged in an impromptu discussion of the diary by a group of inquisitive local kids.
Along with her husband, Lance, Storm is dedicated to shedding light on the growing dangers of illicit fentanyl, and she is prepared with eye-opening facts! She shared with us a particularly stunning statistic from her home county in Missouri where they have experienced an alarming 700% increase in overdose fatalities in the last five years—many of which were children under the age of 15.
We are thankful for Storm and all of our community speakers for raising awareness and sharing lifesaving education in their neighborhoods. If you are interested in joining our Community Speakers, please contact alexis@victoriasvoicefoundation.com for information on our next training event.
