We have reason to celebrate: Prevention works!

The CDC has released encouraging data predicting a significant drop in drug overdose deaths in the United States. Provisional data for the 12-month period ending September 2024 show a nearly 24% decrease in overdose deaths compared to the previous year. This translates to approximately 87,000 deaths, down from around 114,000, representing the lowest number of overdose deaths in a 12-month period since June 2020.
